Babaji’s Kitchen South Indian Restaurant & Food Truck

It wasn’t so long ago, that we began our journey cooking dosa at local markets with one well-loved tava bought with us from Kerala.
Now a hills institution, our first restaurant was established in Belgrave in 2016, after cooking at festivals across Victoria.
Sharing the dishes we grew up on in Kerala, we specialize in dosa, village-style curries & Indian chai. And of course, our own favorite street foods we’d cheekily sneak out for without our mums finding out – pani puri, samosas, and Indian kebabs.
We love nothing more than bringing some delicious street food and a heap of colour to your special day. Got a vision? Let’s put the kettle on and bring it to life. From guests of 50-1000, we have many years of experience cooking for large groups in outdoor settings.
STREET COOKING … is our heartbeat. Our roots.
You can still find us cooking regularly at:
– Heide Arts Market, Heide Museum of Modern Art (2nd Sat of the month)
– Emu Plains Market, Balnarring, Mornington Peninsula (3rd Sat of the month)
Or at many much loved Melbourne festivals, including:
– Golden Plains
– Share the Spirit Festival
– RRR Community Cup
– Indian festivals, Queen Vic market.
Whether our paths cross in our Belgrave restaurant, or at one of the many events we cook at – we can’t wait to meet you.
